2008 Zinfandel Dos Ranchos - Arroyo Grande Valley

 

Our 2008 Dos Ranchos Zinfandel is a blend of fruit from our own estate vineyard and from a neighboring vineyard at the site of A.B. Hasbrouck’s St. Remy winery of Rancho Arroyo Grande. Wines from these two historic ranches were first united in the 1890’s and today we celebrate their heritage with this release. This limited production Zinfandel opens with aromas of cherry cola, rhubarb and deep black pepper spice. A touch of vanilla coupled with black cherry rounds out the nose. The palate brings out ripe pomegranate flavors followed by the signature white pepper spice. The mouth feel is balanced by bright acidity and polished by clean, round tannins. Pair this luscious Zinfandel with carne asada tacos for a casual dinner or try it with Korean barbeque spareribs and red cabbage slaw for a summer get-together. This wine also lends itself well to grilled portabella mushrooms and creamy polenta.

2008 Zinfandel Peterson Ranch - Lodi

Brad Peterson worked in our vineyard and cellar before returning home to tend his family’s 45-year-old Zinfandel vineyard in Lodi. This Zinfandel exhibits classic Lodi character, with fresh berry flavors and a round, soft spicy finish. This wine is a flavorful match for balsamic-herbed chicken, braised lamb shanks and classic cherry pie.
