Whites and Blends
We like to lighten things up with a few white wines that complement the many reds in our family of wines. Sauvignon Blanc has been a part of the Saucelito Canyon experience for many years, while Rhône varietals have emerged more recently as a perfect match for our region.
2009 Sauvage Blanc, Monterey Co.
The 2009 Sauvage Blanc belongs to our Sauvage series of red and white blends inspired by Bordelais grape varietals and traditions of South West France. Sauvignon Blanc derives its name from the words sauvage, for “wild,” and blanc, for “white” due to its early origins as an indigenous grape. Naturally, in our own efforts to tame this wild white grape, we took a cue from the French by blending it with Sémillon. The Sauvignon Blanc brings its signature crispness to the blend, while the Sémillon rounds out the flavor profile with a lush floral entry and hints of Bosc pear. Uncork now to enjoy this wine’s youthful freshness.
